Two-factor-authentication is one of the most common ways to add an extra security measure to online accounts used by many platforms. It works simple, whenever you log in from a new device, Epic will ask you for a security code. This is to prevent any damage to your account if your login details ever get stolen and to deny access.

Epic Games promote 2FA heavily on a regular basis, there have been many events, in-game features, and more only available for those who enabled 2FA on their accounts. If you’re looking forward to signing up to it, all you have to do is to visit fortnite.com/2fa and log in to your Epic Games account. From the left menu, get to your Password&Security settings. Choose the method you want to enable 2FA, it can be done either using your registered e-mail or through an authenticator app.

Although using the e-mail is the most common way, we highly recommend signing up via an authenticator app because it’s faster and more secure. However, this should be the opposite if you’re playing Fortnite only on mobile platforms as there is no way to scan the QR code on your phone from the authenticator app. After you decide, enter the security code you’ve just received and voila! You enabled 2FA on your Epic Games account.
