Ever since Epic Games brought two-factor-authentication to Fortnite Battle Royale, it is heavily promoted by the company.

There have been many events where you could only participate in only if you’ve enabled 2FA on your Epic Games account. While it’s debatable if the developer company behind the biggest battle royale title is doing a bad thing, to this day we still see a similar approach when it comes to putting 2FA one step further. This type of security measure is widely used by many videogames, apps, companies, and websites. The real difference with the one that Epic uses is that it doesn’t ask you for a validation code every time you log in to your account. It will only ask for it when you’re logging on a new device or if you haven’t been logged in for over 30 days.

If you’re wondering how to enable this feature, it’s easy. All you have to do is to log in on your Epic account from the website. Get to your account settings and click on Password&Security from the left menu. Once you’re on the page you need to choose the way you want to enable 2FA. It can be done either via an authenticator app or e-mail. Although the most common way to do it is through your registered e-mail, we highly recommend signing up to 2FA through the app. These authenticator apps include

  • Google Authenticator
  • LastPass Authenticator
  • Authy
  • Microsoft Authenticator

After receiving the security code to your preferred option, you will be successfully enabled 2FA on Fortnite. If you have any further questions regarding Fortnite 2FA, please comment down below.
