Two-Factor-Authentication is one of the best ways to secure your account but it can sometimes get annoying. Especially if you’ve enabled it through an authenticator app. Epic Games recently started getting a lot of reports on Fortnite players losing accounts due to their unable access to their authenticator apps. If you’ve reset your phone to factory settings or remove the app, it may seem like there is no way to recover it but you can remove the authenticator app if you request for a One-Time Password.

Once you received your One-Time Password, you can log in to your Epic Games account from the website and deactivate 2FA. You can turn it back on the minute you deactivated. If you try to contact the Epic Game Support, it will take a whole lot of time and it isn’t even necessary when you think about it.

Authenticator apps can be easy to use and safer but if you are in risk of losing it every once in a while, we highly recommend you to switch to e-mail codes which is better since you can’t accidentally delete anything, even if you would, you can always recover.

You can enable or disable 2FA from the link down below. Also, keep in mind that you can not use both the e-mail and the authenticator app.
