Update: Gifting is no longer available in Fortnite Battle Royale. Once it’s available again, we will update this post.

2FA or two-factor-authentication is a way for players to add an extra layer of protection to their accounts other than their passwords. It works simple and easy to use. Log in on your Epic Games account and get to settings. On the left menu, click on Password&Security. Below the page, you will see two different methods to enable 2FA which is either through e-mail or via an authenticator app. We highly recommend activating it through an authenticator app as it would be easier to use and more secure.

With the mid-Season 8 update, the gifting is now finally available for those who signed up for 2FA on their Epic Games account. Other than the 2FA requirement, the player you want to gift must be in your friend list for over 48 hours. The reason that there is a requirement for 2FA is that Epic wants to promote this feature to keep everyone’s account away from the wrong hands.

How Long Will Gifting Last?

Players can now gift their friends with the requirement of being friends for over 48 hours and activation of 2FA. Gifting was a long-awaited feature that Fortnite players were waiting for a long time. This in-game feature unfortunately will last only for a week but we might be able to use gifting in the near future.
